Since not many of you subscribed to spinningheadart, I feel the need to display my art here as well, just in case maybe some of you just don't like rss feeds or something like that. Here are some of my most recent photos... most of them taken today:

I wrote this journal entry on May 23, 1995, when I was in 5th grade. It seemed appropriate to share here:

If I could win any contest around, I'd like to win a drawing contest, even though I'm not a very good artist. I know I'll never win one, but I am secretly hoping I do sometimes.

I thought this was amusing because now I have won "drawing contests" several times. :)

Not all of these are necessarily spectacular; a few are just snapshots. But I'm posting them here cos it seems more appropriate than posting to spinninghead.

I took these downtown whilst waiting on my mom in the car during her shopping trip. I've wanted to photograph this tree for quite some time now, but hadn't remembered to bring my camera with me until today. I've always been intrigued by the small star-shaped balls that hang from it, and I enjoy seeing its silhouette against the dusky sky. The photos of buildings that you see are the libraries - the first one is of the Paso Robles Public Library we use today, and the second photo with a building is of the old library, which is now condemned after the 6.5 earthquake we had in 2003. It's still a beautiful building, and I'm glad the asbestos keeps them from tearing it down, because I enjoy seeing it when I go downtown.

By the way, I think I have an addiction for taking photos of trees.

I took each of these today, on my walk to my new workplace, which you can see a bit of in the third picture. It's a retirement home. Today was a beautiful day in Paso Robles. And I just can't resist pictures of pretty trees. :)

The sky looked awesome this morning when I was driving to church, and it stayed pretty cool-looking even after church, so I grabbed my camera when I got home and headed back a few miles towards Creston to get some pictures. :) I really wish I'd had my camera earlier, though, cos the sky was even cooler before church... but oh well.

The first photo was taken in my front yard... I liked how the skeleton of the tree looked against the grey sky. And then the second and third photos were taken while I was driving, but I don't like to take photos while I'm driving so I kept driving and pulled over when I got to a good spot. :)

Sorry I haven't really been posting here at all. I think I'm probably going to stop posting here for the most part, so if you want to delete this journal, feel free. I will post here if I am selling any of my pieces of art, or for other important news... but spinningheadart has pretty much replaced this journal, since it functions as pretty much the same thing. Please add spinningheadart if you wish to continue seeing my photography and artwork. :)

Okay, so I decided to give this a try, even though not many responded to my post inquiring if anyone would be interested in purchasing any of my pencil portraits...

Anyway, I listed the first one on ebay today: Julianne Moore. I hope someone out there wants it, and I hope you find my price reasonable... I figured with the cost of materials, and the hours I spent on it, it was actually worth more than what I listed it for, but I wanted to start it low, and see if I could at least get that much for it. Please check it out and bid if you're interested! ^_^

So... I'm thinking of selling some of my art. I have many pencil portraits just sitting around in a folder, not being looked at, and not even being framed. I'd like to sell them to someone who might appreciate them more than I would.

However, I'd like your opinion. Do you think I should sell any of my pencil portraits? Would you be intersted in buying any of them? If so, which ones, and how much do you think they're worth? I really don't know how much these types of things go for these days, so any tips would be welcomed.

You can view the majority of my work here: http://www.spinninghead.co.uk/art.html , and my latest work here: http://thrumylens.livejournal.com/tag/drawings . Obviously I will not sell my self portrait, lol... and both Tegan and Sara Quin have already been given away. I have different levels of attachment to each piece, so I won't go into how I feel about each one, but please let me know if any of them interest you!!

Thanks in advance!
